John Lewis Weekly Sales Slump
03-10-2008
For the week commencing 22nd September, surprisingly the worst trading day for John Lewis occurred on the Saturday and the only day sales marginally ascended appeared on the Monday.
Having opened three more branches, an evident consumer market deviation can be seen through location. The Leicester store was prompted by popular trade in catering, beauty and furnishing advice whilst Cambridge excelled within electricals and fitted kitchens. Liverpool was said to have prospered.

John Lewis's least triumphant stores included Bristol's Cribbs Causeway, reporting a slip down an unfortunately large 24.6 percent, as Southampton decreased 24.5 percent, Peterborough descended 22.7 percent and Milton Keynes slipped down 20.3 percent.
The Christmas shop is due to open its doors this week and Director of Selling Operations, Dan Knowles said: "The market is tougher than it has been for a long while – and John Lewis will be rigorous in keeping doing the right things for partners and customers, driving sales, taking share, and managing our cost base for long-term development."
