Welcome to this week's Art SPY
'Art SPY' brings you a selection of various Artists and Galleries that we find simply delightful!
MADE 08 – Brighton’s Design and Craft Fair
Now that the darker nights are drawing in and the days seem shorter and colder there doesn’t seem that much to do in the winter! Well, I always use the cold days as an excuse to go and visit lots of Art Exhibitions. What better way than to spend your time visiting some truly amazing Art Exhibitions where you can purchase some amazing arts and crafts and help support the artists at the same time?

Now in its third year, this year sees the return of MADE 08 – Brighton’s Design and Craft Fair which is on from the 21st – 23rd November 2008. It’s on over the weekend and it is something not to be missed its huge with over 5000 visitors!!!
The Exhibition MADE 08 – Brighton’s Design and Craft Fair was set up by artists and printmakers Sarah Young and Tessa Walliman and administrators Jon Tutton and Phil Taylor in 2004.
Brighton Art Fair is now firmly established as a major annual event in the arts calendar of the South East. It is the largest art exhibition on the South Coast and brings together about 130 of the most talented national painters, printmakers, photographers and sculptors along with artists groups and Sussex based galleries.
So what goes on here? Well, MADE 08 is basically an exhibition which draws together artists from all over the UK who work on a wide selection of Arts and Crafts so that the public (us) can purchase work of art straight from the artists themselves.
I think they hold the exhibition at a very good time just before Christmas so that many presents may be had! Prices range from £20 – £1500.
This is the largest exhibition outside London. Brighton has always been well known for its Arts movements, I can’t wait to go and visit this exhibition and I hope you do too.
I already have my eye on some artists that I would like to purchase from and have some great ideas for gifts; they have hundreds and hundreds of artists and crafts, just take a look at the selection….
