A normal recession is usually a great chance for good retailer to pick up market share, just concentrate on the very basics of business, don't let standards slip and take share from those who can't afford to invest in their business…
Ok so here's the good news
- There *will be greater emphasis on value, if value for money is the relationship between quality and price then the balance will swiftly shift back towards price.
- But there will be focus towards quality, meaning throw away fashion will sure enough become less attractive, as clothes will be expected to last longer.
- Most retailers can't resist the temptations of the good old internet, and if as a retailer you chose to ignore the power that is the web, you will sure enough be missing out on some rewards (don't say we didn't warn you).
- Focuses, focus, focus, all winning retailers in the past have had a clear detailed vision of their ideas and more importantly knowledge of who and exactly what their customers want. If you got all this sussed then what are you waiting for?
