Hotting up this Valentine’s
12-02-2009

There are so many options to choose from when it comes to those intimate items, so for your benefit I decided to head out into Brighton to locate some of the finest lingerie on the market, from the exquisite to the budget-friendly.

Agent Provocateur really is one of the most extravagant brands that is readily available, with exclusive boutiques in top cities as well as the opportunity to buy online. Despite the hefty price tags, Agent Provocateur really do cater for all tastes and adventure levels, from super sexy baby-dolls to some seriously kinky leather. One killer set for the more daring amongst us is the 'Marilyn' range, which comprises of an open bra, choice of brief or thong and a garter, embellished with delicate silk bow detail. Another even more audacious option is the 'Deepika' hot pants with leather braces – seriously sexy but certainly not for the faint hearted!

However, it is more than possible to kit yourself out in a sexy ensemble if your budget is a little more meagre, or your waistline is less so! Panache (available at Debenhams) offer some totally reasonable but sincerely steamy Basque sets at a price that won't break the bank. If you require something more concealing, some racy nightwear can really can set his pulse racing….without making you want to racy for the dressing gown! High street stores such as Anne Summers offer some sexy nightwear sets that will leave him desperate to 'unwrap' his Valentine's gift!

For those lucky few who are being taken out for Valentines, deciding how to balance sexy and chic can often cause problems. I decided to ask a few local lovelies how they ensure they dress to impress, whilst maintaining their dignity!

Rachel, 23 from Hanover, Brighton says "Wearing a different perfume always works for me….I wear a signature perfume most of the time, but on special occasions I spritz on something with a deeper, musky scent like Christian Dior 'Poison'. My boyfriend always notices the difference, and he knows this is a signal for a great time later on!"

Clare from Hove suggests you wear something sheer…."I think a little flesh goes a long way, so rather than have it all on show I go for a vintage sheer shirt with either a sexy slip or statement bra underneath…..my husband seems to like it!"

Not to leave the guys out in all this, Dylan from Central Brighton says stockings are definitely his thing…. "I often meet my girlfriend for dinner straight from work, and whilst she looks professional and reserved, the knowledge that she's got something naughty on underneath really sets the mood for the evening".

Whatever your size or budget, there is something out there for everyone to ensure your Valentines day sizzles this year!
