LFW Feb 09 – Jaeger
24-02-2009

This winter we saw a host of shaggy and fur coats, that proved extremely popular pieces with the fashion crowd, even at the near £500, these crazy coats, flew off the shelves.

Following this formula, Jaeger again chose to go for monochrome and nude tones of fur coats, gillets and caplets. Other outerwear pieces were also bang on trend, with some ice white, felted wools coats with some fab, front patch pockets, that reminded me of Betty Jackson's show earlier in the week.

The waist, is still all important, with coats cinched with black waist belts, the monochrome contrasts were fantastic.

Metallics have been huge for party wear and yet again, Jaeger were bang on trend. Asymmetric, shiny frocks, embellished with icicle like adornment, were simply gorgeous, investment pieces, which definitely seems to be the theme of the week.

The palette, rarely left monochrome and silver tones, making it an incredibly, dark and wintery selection, but more to the point a cleverly commercial one.

Everyone has gone back to basics this year, concentrating on great tailoring and outerwear. Prints here were, as everywhere else, floral, while block geometric panelling was again du jour, at this show.

A good, solid collection full of wardrobe classics. Really and truly, what Jaeger do best.
