Frolicking in the Sunshine
18-03-2009

Everywhere you look you have been bombarded with gorgeous, bright and deliciously dramatic patterned sun dresses, and this week I am going to dedicate my entire article to the wonder that is the sexy summer frock.

Topshop are leading the way on the high street, offering a sweet collection of sun dresses, both simple and chic designs and some more flamboyant offerings that can be teamed with patterned jackets or cardigans to truly encapsulate the Bad Taste trend screeching through the top designers' collections this spring.

See by Chloe's delightfully simple yellow tabard dress is just to die for, and by teaming it with some sexy pink heels or a pair of flat gladiators, it can see you from early morning meeting to al fresco lunch, all the way through to a light supper with friends – Blissful, just like the weather! Additionally, this delicious fitted dress by Sticky Fingers offers a slightly more formal take on the summer dress, allowing you to stay cool, calm and collected in the office.

I adore the gorgeous bold prints that are around right now, they really appeal to my kookie side. The current trend for anything clash-tastic also fits perfectly with my desire to stand out from the crowd. But, if combining floral, paisley and stripes is something you don't think should be seen outside of your Mum's wardrobe circa 1982, there are still ways to get noticed without taking it over the top. As you know, vintage is my forte, and selecting a vintage print dress rather than something straight off the peg, and teaming it with a slightly oversized cardigan and sweet ankle boots can make an outfit to die for! Carrying some tights in your bag can take a day outfit into the evening, ensuring you don't freeze once the sun goes down!
