Over-the-knee boots are the big thing in footwear this Autumn/Winter and many have been spotted on the catwalks of the likes of Prada, Peter Pilotto, Emilio Pucci and Hussein Chalayan. Most of which have been in black, brown and neutral shades, so as not to distract from the impacting length of the boot.

Wearing these over-the-knee boots can give you a very powerful look when teamed with soft jersey dresses or a long boyfriend fit jacket, and tights or skinny jeans in the same or a complimenting colour to the boots. The trick is not to create too many visual breaks in your outfit to maintain the long, lean silhouette over-the-knee boots can give you, the more breaks that occur in your outfit the shorter and dumpier you'll look so steer clear of waist belts and voluminous skirts. Stick to adding interest with a variety of textures, rather than colours, such as a suede boot or a chunky knit. However one downside to these super-sexy boots is the price tag that comes with them, now it's of course understandable because of the extra material needed to make them, but for those of you that don't want to break the bank there is an easy, cheap option of wearing chunky knit over-the-knee sock with regular boots (in the same colour) layered over a pair of tights.
