London Fashion week Spring/Summer 2010

London Fashion Week (LFW) is one of the main profile fashion events in the world and one of the ‘big four’ international catwalk influencers. Fashion Capital kept its finger on the fashion pulse in the build up to LFW and was very fortunate to meet with Harold Tillman, who is in fact the Chairman of the British Fashion Council (BCF) which plans this fantastic event.

Rumor has it in the fashion scene that this year’s event is quite special as London Fashion Week is celebrating its 25th anniversary. So I’m sure we are all in for a rather large treat. It was quoted on the LFW site ‘a number of exciting events for the 25 years celebration and beyond which will engage and include the public…a splash of glamour is to be expected’ (http://www.londonfashionweek.co.uk/content.asp?CategoryId=1103).

If you do not have tickets to the much anticipated shows, it isn’t as much as a disaster as you may think, as here at Fashion Capital we have it all under control. You may as well think of it as having a front row virtual ticket as both myself and others will be reporting live to make sure we keep you all updated with the latest news on SS10, reviews and back stage gossip!

If a catfight breaks out between Vivienne Westwood and John Rocha over who has the best SS10 designs, you’ll be the first to know. Let’s not forget Fashion Capitals fabulous photographers, they will be right up close to ensure they snap the perfect shots for our photo gallery. Be sure to check the gallery daily to keep on top of all the key looks.

Vivienne Westwood’s designs have been very influential to new designers over the years and in my opinion her classic designs have shaped the way we consume fashion. I shouldn’t have favorites,  but I can’t help but get excited when I hear her name. Vivienne’s show is certainly one of my favorites, she never fails to amaze and I can not wait to see what her new collection offers the SS10 range.

In a recent Interview quoted on the London Fashion Week website , Vivienne Westwood stated three things that inspired her SS10 collection are "Culture: Classical music, books and paintings." (http://www.londonfashionweek.co.uk/designers_details.asp?DesignerID=847). 
I’m utterly excited to see what visual treats Vivienne has in store for us this Sunday, with the spring/summer collection.

Many other top designers will be showcasing there talent over the coming week , such as the established LFW regulars, Betty Jackson, Nicole Farhi, Paul Smith, Luella Bartley, John Rocha and Jasper Conran, as well as the big guns of Burberry, Pringle, Jaeger and Mulberry, it should be a fitting celebration of British fashion’s quarter-century. London Fashion week (LFW) is literally providing us with a fashion feast; at least 50 catwalk shows are on the official schedule, as well as further 45+ shows off schedule.  That’s without including the exhibition that runs alongside, which showcases over 100 ready to wear garments and accessories.  Be sure to check it out if you can, you can visit the exhibition at:
