Orschell

21-09-2009

Hindu artwork and London's youth culture. The collection is presented in two sections.

The first section (CXII) has a very punk/street style edge. There was a lot of leather in a snake skin print; green being the prominant colour. The dropped crotch trousers pay homage to Vivienne Westwood's Pirate collection. The use of plaid throughout is also a nod in the direction of punk.

The second section (DXII) is the bespoke side of the collection. This consisted of more structured folds within the trouser. The materials used in this section include moray silk, chiffon, human hair, printed napa and pleated linens. This gave an overall more luxurious feel. I particuarly liked the used of human hair as fringing on one jacket and all over on another; it added a sense of movement to the more structured pieces in the collection.
