Illustrators and Digital Artists from around the World

A look into the talent of CG from around the world: The work of many illustrator’s and graphic designers comes from the magnificent program known to all as Adobe Photoshop. With basic design tools, artist can create intriguing, fantasy worlds where art holds no boundaries. Rarely is the artist behind the image put into the spotlight, here we have an insight to some of these creators and a showcasing of their amazing work.  

The ‘fashion artist’ – Shadow Chen, China
 
Chen began her career as a product designer but immersed herself into graphic design specialising in clothing, freelancing her work to fashion designers and houses. She enjoys painting in her spare time this is evident in her use of colour and shaping in graphics.

The ‘fantasy world master’ – Kerem Beyit, Turkey
Beyit’s main influence comes from comic books, his graphic design knowledge helped him gain jobs doing book covers and local comics as well as freelancing in magazine graphics. He has been working in the digital space for four years now and has honored with awards from CGSociety, CgChannel, Gfxartist, Cggallery, 3DTotal and CGArena. The attention to detail in his art is phenomenon and creates fantasy worlds to perfection.

The ‘caricaturist’ – Tiago Hoisel, Brazil 
Born in Brazil, Hoisel’s pieces often exaggerate the facial features of people (often celebrities) and animals to create a humour inspired characters.

The ‘Poster boy’ – Joshua. M. Smith, Orlando, USA 
Known as ‘Hydro 74’, Smith’s work is a composition of typography, complex illustrations and a fusion of gothic and rock. ‘The soul purpose of my career is to push the boundaries in doing what I feel is relevant to the market as well as extract various elements and trends to be able to offer them up in my own personal work.

The ‘Broken face’ – Maciej Hajnrich, Poland
Hajnrich is a self-taught illustrator, an established full-time freelance artist with five years of experience in print and Web design. He has designed illustrations for the musical “Pricilla, Queen of the Desert,” and he was a judge for iStockphoto’s Battle Royale, Widely published, Maciej is a member of the Keystone Design Union and Depthcore digital arts community.

The ‘Spanish Mixer’ – Jericó Santander, Spain
Santandar is a freelance illustrator with a passion for art. His inspiration comes from the idea of mixing digital painting, photography and 3-D in one work excites him and helps him to develop his ideas.

The ‘Mythical’ creator – Kode Logic, Australia
An artist from a very early age, Logic, has only become a fan of digital art in the last few years, a fast learner and a open-minded artist, Logic does not fixate on one style of design but absorbs and refines his style through external factors and others designers’ work.

The ‘Colourator’ – James Benn, London
Benn’s interest in colour and line has filtered into his pieces in a cartoon-like manner; his work is soft and yet plays on humour. Benn has worked on various magazine features with clients such as WUW magazine and Front magazine and is currently working freelance in and around London. He has successfully showcased his work at various exhibitions.

The ‘womaniser’ – Mario Wibisono, Indonesia
Wibisono’s main object of work is women, as he puts it, “a most wonderful subject that everyone (but mostly boys) loves to discuss (and fantasize about).” He’s beautifully created surreal woman characters are brought out to life by Wibisono’s remarkable realistic art, refining the features of a woman to perfect lines.

The ‘Surrealist’ – Suliman Almawash, Kuwait
Almawash is a dynamic digital artist and master of surreal and conceptual art. His themes delve on suffering, humanity even down to his colour palette of greys and monotones, there is such a deep element of concept in his art.

The ‘Pop Artist’ – Aaron Sikstrom, Canada
Sikstrom is a modern artist who captures a story within each still shot of work. Influenced by pop art and surrealism, he has developed a style that blends fantasy and pop surrealism.
