A huge fashion statement already on the courts is the ‘Lawn Rose’ dress worn by Maria Sharapova (aged just 23) in a £43million deal! The dress and its design is sponsored by Nike, Maria’s eight year deal with Nike is said to be the most lucrative women’s sports endorsement ever.

This stylish layered dress is totally on trend and is set to steal the show and help Sharapova claw her way to a chic victory!

This is not the first time Maria has caused a fashion stir, in 2008 she was criticised for shunning the usual tennis dress and wearing a tuxedo style sheer mesh shirt and boyish white shorts. A cute ensemble but not the norm for the court! Maria is expected to wear a Nike creation based on strawberrys and cream next with red piping.

Another noticeable fashion statement on centre court is the diamante studded nails worn by Serena Williams.

With attention turning to fashion with these wonderfully powerful women on the court, this year could get catty!
