The Best of 2010
13-01-2011
The Cape
Superseding the trench, the cape trend truly took off. From Burberry military to Chloe camel, to Armani’s red-riding hood version, there’s a cape for everyone. Superhero Alexander Wang officially declared the cape as our preferred outerlayer for seasons to come.

The Trouser
Harem, skinny or high waisted, 2010 was the year of the trouser. Paired with a tucked in tee and block heels, there’s nothing that says lady luxe better. It’s also ensued the return of the lady-tux as an alternative to the LBD.

The Red
Although tones in 2010 were muted, flashes of red walked runways in the form of striking lips, kitten heels or silk gloves.

The Comeback
Love them or hate them, clogs are here to stay – and even made it into the autumn months when partnered with a cutesy pair of socks

The Designer
Undoubtedly 2010 has been the year for Christopher Bailey. His fall/winter Burberry Prorsum show literally left the audience agasp, with the collection selling out in a matter of minutes. The aviator jacket, for those lucky few who could get their hands on one, and his shearling boots have been replicated by practically every high street store.

The Style Icon
Blake Lively, whether she’s Serena or her fabulous self, takes chic to a whole other level. From red carpet appearances to store openings to just shopping on the Upper East side, she was my style icon for 2010 – and she insists she doesn’t have a stylist.

The Transformation
Lea Michele has gone from the girl next door/song bird on Glee to a red carpet siren. She’s the one to watch on the red carpet this awards season.

The Accessory
I have to say arm candy is this years hot accessory – just ask Demi, Sienna or Kristen.
