This Seasons must

27-09-2011

As we well know the fashion world doesn’t celebrate the New Year, their resolutions start in September and go along the lines of ‘I MUST ALWAYS LOOK GOOD AT ALL TIMES’. So with the tan glowing and the light flattering the new trends begin and it couldn’t happen at a better time of the year. Yes you guessed it…the start of the Xfactor! Women around the world are canceling Saturday nights out and have the local chinese takeaway on speed-dial! I think it’s safe to say as the nights get shorter, our bank balances get larger and we all know what that means…More shopping of course! And nows the time to do it as January is lurking round the corner when you will be flat broke and spotty from too many Quality Street. Anything that involves a mirror is to be avoided at all costs, and that includes sales shopping. So it’s very important for me to make you clear on the hottest, must-have trends of the season SHARPISH…

1. Cowboys and Indians

Howdy partner! This trend is best worn in the Wild West, but if your not going to a saloon via 1860 then these ponchos and Apache patterns liven up any winter wardrobe. Why be scared…Giddyup for the ride of the season and gallop into town in head-to-toe fringing and denim! Yee Ha!…

2. Fetish

Bring out your Fashion Minx with this season’s sexy take on fetish wear! It’s no great secret that the humble leather jacket has become a widespread wardrobe staple. However we’ve taken it to a whole new level…Think studs, lace and zips…Maybe best to save this one for the nights out rather the workplace girls. Fetish wear is cracking its whip!

3. Mods

Winter doesn’t have to be black, dazzle this season in colours that seem to have exploded in our wardrobes. This is a very versatile trend with ‘office essentials’ written all over it. Boxy silhouettes and pastel shades see the 60’s kicking back to chillax. Throw in a scooter and lashings of mascara and away you go!

4. Plunging Necklines

It doesn’t automatically lend itself to the cold weather of autumn / winter 2011, but none the less the women’s plunging neckline has captured the imagination of designers from the likes of Gucci. There are obvious risks with this trend…but I don’t think I need to spell them out. Keep your modesty girls!!

5. Masculine

Girl meets boy this Autumn as the androgynous trend can pretty much kick it on any style scene. Thanks to the likes of Tom Ford and the re-rise of 1970s fashion, the women’s tuxedo makes its comeback in autumn / winter 2011. Forget boys – it’s their wardrobes we’re flirting with this season. You’ll really impress suited and booted at job interviews.

6. Wild Prints

Animal prints are gracing the catwalks this season. Snake print is everywhere and as temperatures plummet to below freezing we are all looking for something chic to keep us warm. Furs might seem like a things of the past but they’re back and hotter than ever. Fashion is hearing the call of the wild but maybe save the jungle drama for a saturday night party!

Happy shopping! Oh and don’t forget my present, a pair of palazzo trousers will do nicely…
