Sarah Taplin

My names Sarah Taplin, im 15 and attend Langley Park Girls School.I’ve always been arty, since i was tiny. I love just drawing a random shape, and making it into something amazing. Arts everywhere, archetecture, on the stage, in your earphones. I want to make my contribution in the fashion industry. I want to make a mark.

See the girl that everyone thinks WOW when they see her walking in her heels and know thats my work, I made that.

Fashions not just pieces of material sewn together. It transforms someone, makes them colourful and detailed. Its a form of expression.

I hope to go to Langley Girls 6th form and take art and textiles and then follow my studies at The London Fashion College. Then who knows? Maybe i’ll be a postman. But i hope i’ll push through into the fashion industry, however hard it gets.

I get my inspiration from many places.  Mostley when im out. I’ll see the city silhuette and it’ll fix in my mind, then it shows in my designs.  Or i’ll see the vintage clothes, and pick out a pattern or shape that just stands out.

I like to think out of the box. Clear my mind of whats the new trend, whats in the shops. Then i just imagine, Shapes-Colours-Prints-Textures.  And most of the time i end up with an alien suit. But sometimes i create designs im proud of.  I know when im older, i’ll be doing something to do with fashion. Its something im passionate about. Something i love and i will pursue my dream.

I’m Jack. I’ve recently chosen to take Art as a G.C.S.E. I think I’m quite creative and enjoy drawing and designing things. When I was chosen to do the two-day course I was keen to start designing clothes, I’ve always wanted to be a designer but never thought of designing clothes. I’ve enjoyed it so far and hope I can take something positive from it.
