Welcome to this week’s Art SPY
‘Art SPY’ brings you a selection of various Artists and Galleries that we find simply delightful!
Trish Wylie
It’s very interesting to find out that Trish has a unique method of working. She has developed a system of painting from movie projection stills. It all started when one day as Trish was watching a Western she decided that she would try and paint that scene on a large canvas. It worked perfectly and she then went on to create more from other titles such as Escape from Monument Valley and The Chase. Trish has done huge portraits of Clint Eastwood and Steve McQueen.
Trish lives and works in West Bay which is in Bridport. She works from a huge draughty loft overlooking the bay, allowing her to work without any distractions. When asked does she feel that she is at a disadvantage not working within the dizzy heights of London she admits you may not have the stimulus but you do have the distractions and intense competition as well as the sense of desperation that can sometimes fall upon artists.
So I would say this lady has the best of both worlds.
I love her work, especially the painting of Marilyn Monroe…Here are some of my favourites…
Marilyn ‘River of no return’
Clint ‘A fist full of dollars’

Charles Bronson

The Searchers

Marilyn

The Magnificent Seven
