Kingston College at The Workshop
18-02-2010
The students had already covered basic pattern cutting skills such as dart manipulation, cutting and slashing to add flare, darts into seams and facings as well as have all made a patterns from their own design. With the basic knowledge they already had, instructor Daria, assisted the students to become more confient in their basic pattern making skills introducing new pattern cutting techniques through the Vetigraph program.
Although Kingston College currently does not have the Vetigraph program the student still found the course useful. Student Laura Ockenden had this to say, “I enjoyed using the program and found the techniques to be a lot quicker and more precise in comparison to hand (pattern cutting). Daria was excellent as a guide and it was great to see how they create patterns in the industry.”
The Workshop is running another course open to the public next week, Feb 22-26th from 10am to 4pm. For more information or to reserve a place on this course, email leith@fashion-enter.com.
