Elemis Spa

How it went : I couldn't think of anything much nicer than escaping the throng of migraine-inducing crowds on Oxford Street and finding myself in the calming oasis of the Elemis Spa. Located in a quiet alley off Brook Street, this is a zone of tranquility and pampering that shouldn't be missed. I chose to have the Deep Tissue Muscle Massage. Like most people suffering from too much stress and not enough play I wanted ‘out' with the tension in my shoulders and ‘out' was what happened. Not only was the treatment divine and just the right pressure, the thoughtful touches such as the heated bed and lavender eye mask added an all important this-is-really-worth-the-money factor. I noticed there was a shower in the room too – perfect for de-oiling before heading back to the office or before a night out. Me? I was out for the count before 9 o'clock that evening – deep tissue, deep sleep. Bliss.

The Verdict? I'm already thinking of an excuse to return. Highly recommended as a special treat for mum or a girlfriend.
