Worldwide fabric Fairs

13-04-2005

With the Fabric fairs drawing to a close for Spring/Summer 2006, you begin to realise how many fabric fairs there are to visit and it becomes confusing as to which fairs you should attend.  Here are a few of the worldwide fairs, which take place twice yearly, providing the latest trends in fabric and garment textiles.

The Turkish Fashion Fabric Exhibition is produced by the Istanbul Textile & Apparel Exporters’ Associations and presents the latest trends in fabric for Spring/Summer 2006.  The Exhibition takes place in London and New York and represents a total of 73 major Turkish weavers, leading designers and trim manufacturers in London and 49 in New York.

Prato Expo is an initiative of the Industrial Association of Prato, which is held twice a year, once for the Spring/Summer collection and again for the Autumn/Winter collection, at the Fortezza da Basso in Florence.  It is a consortium of 140 textile firms and a fashion trend area, which is designed like a fashion show, which presents basic ideas of the collections and icons of styles made from the fabrics produced by the exhibitors.

Premiere Vision promotes fabrics for the clothing sector and the Salon presents its creative and diversified fabric offer twice yearly at the Parc d’Expositions in Paris, in February to March for spring/summer and in September for autumn/winter.  Premiere Vision also host the Jitac European Textile fair in Tokyo, which represents over 500 weavers and also Premiere Vision International in Shanghai, which represents a complete range of creative and innovative textiles as well as the Premiere Vision fashion information trends.

Interstoff trade fairs are for Apparel Fabrics and Accessories and are organised by Messe Frankfurt.  Interstoff fairs can be seen in Hong Kong featuring over 400 exhibitors and close to 11,000 visitors.  Interstoff is set to hold its first international trade fair for garment fabrics in Moscow in September, which will have the same concept as Interstoff Asia.

Intertextile is held in both Beijing and Shanghai and is a trade fair for apparel fabrics and accessories manufacturers and suppliers.  The Shanghai fair features over 1200 exhibitors with over 42,000 visitors attending and the Beijing fair has close to 600 exhibitors participating and 16,000 visitors attending.

Texworld is part of Messe Frankfurt and offers the latest trends from the world of garment textiles in Paris.  Over 600 textile exhibitors from 16 product groups participate, with over 16,000 visitors from 104 countries attending.
