Tanja Knitwear

Almost two years after the Management buyout company Tanya Knitwear the team are pushing ahead with their plans to develop the business. Last year they expanded their production capacity of 15gg with the purchase of new machines.
“To compete in today’s market it is critical that we are able to offer our customers increased flexibility and quick responseâ€, said Fiona Berridge, Sales Director.
“With this in mind they have just opened their own wet finishing unit close to their main factory. The new facility is capable of dyeing garments to customers’ own shades up to a total easy care finish which is in addition to wet finishing garments knitted in dyed yarns.
“This is a very important step forward for us, †reported the Managing Director, Erica Colver, “ customers often ask us to match knitwear to a woven fabrics from their collection, we need to be able to react quickly and provide repeats in season. Most importantly for other customers, particularly designers is that nothing leaves us and we can ensure design securityâ€
Tanya was established in 1948 and specializes in the manufacture of quality fully fashioned knitwear, mainly in natural fibres such as Merino wool, Lambswool and Cotton.
Tanya makes ladies, mens and some children’s knitwear.
The production plant consists of 21gg and 15gg, both plain and intarsia, and 12gg Vee Bed machines.
The business has its own collection of ladies knitwear sold under the Tanya brand, which is exhibited at MODA
