Tea at the House of Lords

I would not like to have the job of Lord Andrew Stone on Monday morning of narrowing down just four designers to meet with on Wednesday 18th May 2005.  We have received an overwhelming response-not surprising for such a fantastic competition.


 


Here at the office we have managed to select the lucky 15 finalists who are:-


 



 


Lord Stone will host afternoon tea for the privileged four designers at the House of Lords and provide invaluable information with regards to contacts and networking within the fashion industry. 


 


 



 


These designers have been waiting a long time for this once-in-a-lifetime experience, where they are able to express their opinions and ask for knowledgeable advice to aid them within the clothing sector.  We will be following up this event with a report of the day’s events to be featured on www.fashioncapital.co.uk on Thursday 19 May 2005.


 



Lord Stone has supported and guided the London Fashion Forum (LFF) over the previous three years, and has networked us and designers alike with a host of retailers’ et al.


 


Lord Andrew Stone Biography;


 


Lord Stone was raised to the peerage as, Baron Stone of Blackheath in 1997.  He joined Marks and Spencer plc as a Trainee in 1966 and retired his position as joint managing Director of the company in 1999.


 


 



 


He is currently a Director of a several non-governmental organisations, a retail company and chair of a media company and is involved in several charities.  He Chairs DIPEx which helps patients gain information on how to make the right choices.


 


He has a deep interest in community work based around his fascination with the juxtaposition between Art & Science, a desire to help alleviate suffering of those with illnesses and a lifelong interest in the process of creating understanding and peace in the Middle East.
