LFF SEASONAL TREND REPORT JUNE 2005
01-06-2005
Cropped trousers and Shorts
Summer is in full swing! Our favourite designers have catered for us in a sexy yet practicle way with this seasons biggest trend, cropped trousers! Not only do we all like to wear less because of the great weather but this also gives you an opportunity to bring out your favourite kitten heels or chunky wedges.
This look, like many trends for s/s 05 is very femine. It’s versatile for everyday wear and even trips to the beach. The great thing about this trend is the possibilty of mixing it with so much. A lot of the previous styles we have mentioned such as short jackets work really well with short trousers.

Key Detail
Mens fashion is becoming much more experimental! Quite like the seventies when style for a man was just as important as it is for a woman. Detail to enhance a look is a must this season. Designers have celebrated the accessories that add flavour to quite a basic look. Alexander McQueen has taken it one step further by ensuring many of his fabrics also had key detail. There are a variety of options that you can consider. Broaches, bright belt buckles, detail on hats, the list goes on. Guys, this is your time to shine!

Light Knits
Last month we touched on knits for men, well designers have done the same for women. The possibilities are endless with this look as there are so many colours and shapes to play with. The obvious reason to invest in a light knit is the added protection should the weather take a turn for the worse or if the evening gets a bit chilly, the style reason is simply the oppotunity to exercise more than one trend at a time. Light knits can often cross over into the nude category as the lighter or brighter the colour the larger the chance of the knit being translucant. For maximum impact pull the sleeves up on your light knit and accessories with a few chunky bangles.
Recommended Brands: Temperley, Ann Demeulemeester, Balenciaga and Missoni.
