Week 15: The Benefits of Brainstorming and Team work
Another buzzy week in the Huge Promotions office this week! Huge Promotions are willing to share with you the secrets to a growing business in the fashion world…
Huge Promotions has a strong team of freelance and in house experts, with expertise in several areas including; PR, events, design and styling. All of our staff have degrees and strong experience in related areas, along with vast contacts in the media and industry, across the board.
Huge Promotions is so successful due to the varying experience and skills of the staff, the team have very different and creative ways of working. Every week we have a brainstorming session; ‘Huge’s Head-Rush’, this is a very effective way of sharing ideas and learning new ones too.
The brainstorming doesn’t just create new ideas within the office, but it also helps refresh old ideas and keeps weekly tasks up to date and fresh. The weekly brainstorming session can give you new ideas for future fashion trends, buzz words and up and coming events.
Within the fashion industry in particular, it is vitally important to keep abreast of fashion trends, current affairs and industry news. Brainstorming sessions offer the opportunity to share your ideas with others and importantly, allow you to consistently re-focus your aims and activity to suit.
To help you get started here is a summary of industry news that you may find useful;
Consumer press such as Marie Claire and Glamour magazine have already covered autumn and winter fashion spreads for 2005/06, but National newspapers and fortnightly magazines such as Closer are currently working on them now. To give you an insight into A/W trends, be inspired by our in house research;
Russian Inspired: fluffy scarves and hats with pom poms will be a must have accessory, there is also leather, suede, sheepskins and furs available, basically anything that is luxurious to the touch and mixes different textures.
Vintage Glamour: The theme comprises of 1930s and Edwardian looks with 1950s and 80s grooming. The Vintage Glamour look consists of dropped waist dresses, heavily beaded tops, frilly necklines, layered net skirts, floor length gowns and handkerchief hems.
Prep School: is about achieving the school uniform look with a fashionable and stylish edge. The look is smart and masculine; blazers, baggy shirts and ties, tucked in to tailored high waisted trousers and snug fitting pencil skirts that accentuate the feminine silhouette.

Bethanie Lunn is the Managing Director of Huge Promotions; she set up the business one and a half years ago when she was just 23. To run a business at such a young age is a good advert for her venture. Bethanie Lunn has great expertise in PR, events, design and styling, she gladly shares her knowledge and skills with the rest of the team.
Clare Bloomfield is the Events Manager at Huge Promotions; she liaises with some of the top notch cuisines throughout the Midlands and the
Kate Mitchell is the PR Assistant at Huge Promotions, she assists with the basic principles of PR, and she liaises with the press everyday and approaches potential clients. Kate has a strong background within the fashion world, having studied fashion for five years at college and university. Kate has just graduated from De Montfort University, gaining a BA (Hons) degree in Fashion Retail Buying. Whilst at University, Kate worked for Warehouse Ltd, where she learnt the basic principles of retail and sales.
Huge Promotions also take on work experience candidates, this gives students and young adults the opportunity to develop their skills and experience as well as giving us fresh and new ideas.
