British Retailer Support Strengthens PROFILE

PROFILE 6 confirmed for 20-21 September 2005

London Fashion Forum (LFF) today announced that key British retailers had confirmed their on-going support to PROFILE, the industry’s platform for new and vibrant UK designers.


For the sixth season running three major retailers House of Fraser, Debenhams and Hobbs have confirmed that they will be continuing their sponsorship for Profile 6. House of Fraser sponsors the womenswear category, Debenhams the menswear and Hobbs the accessory category.


In what can only be described as a boost in high street kudos, Whistles has now offered to sponsor the New Designer Award, with the winner being provided with much sought after retail space in one of their flag ship stores.


Commenting on the sponsorship of the award, Whistles’ Design Director, Virginia Jones, said;” Whistles is the premier designer brand of the Mosaic Fashions Group for the confident woman of today. The branding of Whistles is a perfect fit with the talented quality designers that Profile offers. Whistles prides itself on constant new direction for innovation and style and we are delighted to be supporting an event that promotes new designer talent”


Long-term partner, the Welsh Clothing & Textile Agency, will be offering a £3,000 cash prize via the ‘Huw Penny Tribute Award’ for the most promising designer. This award is in memory of Huw Williams, Marketing Director of WCTA, who was a strong supporter of the Profile fashion event. WCTA will still continue their close collaboration with Profile.


        
LFF’s Chairman and Director, David Jones, commented; “PROFILE continues to strengthen with every passing season.  We have the support of many of the key names in British fashion retailing and the sponsorship of the event by retailers such as Whistles, House of Fraser, Debenhams and Hobbs reflects this.  There is no other industry event within the fashion calendar that offers such a unique opportunity for all sectors of the trade. Year on year our attendance has grown and this season we anticipate a strong turnout of high street retailers, independent buyers and press”


PROFILE 6 will revert to its established format of two days and will combine a trade exhibition, catwalk show and competition.  The event will be held be held on 20 – 21 September at The Vinopolis, 1 Bank End, London, with LFF anticipating more than 5000 buyers, stylists and press passing through the doors to view the rising generation of the UK’s fashion industry.


The event has space for up to 100 exhibitors and is almost 75% subscribed already.
