Off-Schedule London

What would we do without e-mail? More to the point, what would PR’s do without e-mail? The mode of communication is a sure-fire favourite – you can inform, attach and send all at the press of a button – perfect for all that up-and-coming Fashion Week action. There are plenty of gems to catch this season, particularly off-schedule, so here’s a sneaky peek at some of the shenanigans…

Opening those oh-so-fashionable proceedings is the SuperBlow launch event this Saturday. Each season the Blow crew utilize their fantastic contacts to create – SuperBlow magazine. Now in its 3rd issue, SuperBlow celebrates the diverse mix of LFW’s design talent – and for all you fellow Style Addicts it’s rather informative too.

SuperBlow 3 Launch Event:

When: Saturday 17th September 18:30 – 22:30

Where: Kemistry Gallery, 43 Charlotte Road, Shoreditch, London EC2A

Profile 6 will be on my – not to miss list – with designers like Lisa Larsson, Two B, Craven Gene and Gresham Blake on show you’d be a fool not to.

As for on-schedule there’s a buzz about the new talent on show such as – Roksanda Ilincic, c.neeon, plus the Fashion East and Fashion Fringe shows.

Talk about fashioned-out! Before I go and lie down I’d just like to mention some of the trend news straight from the New York catwalks this week…

New York Summer Trends

So far, so safe, the most risqué of items seen all week was short shorts, teeny tiny things that can only be worn with a fabulous pair of legs. Otherwise, easy, one step dressing rules with an abundance of frocks. Simplicity is key with attention to detail, could this be a return to minimalism? Ongoing trends from last summer include knee-length city shorts, boxy jackets, ruffles and a continued nautical theme. Colours remain neutral and the black & white combo looks strong. For a quirky styling tip check out Luella, Lacoste and Imitation of Christ for their take on braces – or suspenders if you prefer. Plus, I also noted that emphasis has remained on the waist – either at the natural waistline or with higher empire line styles.
