Roland Bows Out
{mosimage}Roland Mouret has stunned his devotees with the news that he is going to quit his label in the New Year. Roland Mouret Ltd is owned by husband and wife team Sharai and Andre Meyers, who have worked alongside Roland to rapidly build up the company over the last five years. Sharai and Roland would often refer to their working relationship as being tempestuous in terms of creative direction and now, it seems, the difference of opinion is too strong to continue. Mouret will retain his role as head designer for the next six months and will present his Autumn/Winter 06/07 collection at New York Fashion Week in February. From there on the designer has yet to say what his plans are. For the Meyers the intention so far is to continue the company with the committed and talented team already on board.
