The collaboration between LFF and WCTA

When the WCTA was established five years ago it was very much the determination of a few individuals that turned the project from a concept into a reality. The late Huw Williams (Marketing Director) worked many long hours before the official opening of the centre supported by a totally dedicated team Glen Williams, Virginia Teague and Adrian . As part of that true collaborative spirit the LFF would now like to offer each member of the WCTA and free ecommerce website on www.fashioncapital.co.uk and a profile for each participating designer.
FEMINI is all about smart and fashionable clothes for day to day occasions.
FashionCapital is a London Development Agency funded project that is part of the Creative London initiative. It is a portal for the industry and has over 60,000 unique users that generate over a 1m hits a week. It is a phenomenal marketing tool for all aspiring designers and this free offer of an ecommerce website is a genuine initiative to continue working so successfully with the WCTA. The Profile section (see News icon on the home page) provides a powerful marketing tool that is often scanned by buyers, press and stylists and below shows a typical designer profile.

When the Centre of Excellence was officially opened on Friday 11th June, 2004 by Dafydd Wigley and the Textile Support Initiative commenced the LFF knew that there was no organisation nor project that was so conclusive as WCTA. In addition the LFF will be working again with WCTA on 17th and 18th November to conduct one to one mentoring sessions and break away groups for new and emerging designer talent.
