A  review of the FashionCapital site was also undertaken so each student could understand where their forthcoming work would be showcased.

I was amazed how receptive the class was to the concept of design and creativity. The students are aged between 16 and 18 and whilst design and textiles is not an option at LPSB all the students demonstrated a flair for creativity. All the backgrounds were art based and work will be added to their portfolio too during the forthcoming six weeks.

For next weeks course the groups and individuals were sent key tasks namely components for Key Trends Summary Board such as the gathering of pictures for mood and inspiration, key colour trends currently in the shops and portrayed in press, an example of colours, fabric ideas (students were encouraged to bring in garments for discussion),initial ideas for a garment to be constructed and a ideas for labels and a logo.

Well done to the students. Both Vanessa and I are looking forward to working with you next week.
