Clotheshow Live 05
03-12-2005
We made it and I can see why Clotheshow Live proclaim that there are over 180,000 visitors attend the show. The majority of them must be here today! Our stands have been constantly busy and there has been enormous interest in the LFF and FashionCapital.
Everyone can remember the hype of Clotheshow Live from the BBC days and there is enormous attraction by the younger market towards the brand name of Clotheshow.
The exhibition is over three halls and each hall is then subdivided into four main coloured themes;
Yellow Zone – for fast fashion
Purple Zone – for urban fashion
Blue Zone – for designer fashion
Pink Zone – for pampering (you can even have your teeth whitened here! I met someone yesterday that dazzled us with her new whiter than white toothy grin!).
Each zone, as at Saturday 5.30 pm, is still packed!
Generally the customers are young fashion followers aged primarily between teenagers and Mid 20s. Naturally the moms come along too so this does create a wider market audience. Propensity to buy is definitely high and there are discerning customers who definitely want exclusivity and quality.
This year Clotheshow Live has stepped up the ante too. It announced the panel of experts to bring their flair and expertise to the show. The panel comprises of:-
William Baker, Kylie’s stylist, will be leading the creative direction of the Nokia Fashion Theatre and showcasing the very best in haute couture and high street brands on one of the largest catwalks in the world.
Helena Christensen was the photographer for the photo shoot which created this year’s cover shot of top model Vivien Solari who was herself, discovered at Clotheshow Live 6 years ago.
Julian MacDonald worked alongside William and provided clothing for the photo shoot.
The LFF have brought a cross section of designers here for half price and in addition we also showcased some other designer’s o n the stand too such as Daniela Benson, Emure, Hannah Marshall and Ayewan from Amelia Ayewan. So is the Clotheshow event successful for new and emerging designers…..?
– Romantic Images – Hazel Nelson Williams “Absolutely fabulous – that’s all I can say!”
– Kitten Couture – Colette Dutton “Atmosphere is great but my collection is made from a very fine and expensive jersey which is then highly embellished. We have made sales but I think the event is price sensitiveâ€
Rufus – Natasha Wright – Excellent so far. Our mix of sporty fun is perfect for this eventâ€
– Romeo Pires – Nicholas “This is the first time we have shown our collection at Clothes show and it’s been good to see many of our existing customers plus attract some new customers to. We will definitely be here again with a bigger stand
– Femini – Honika “Location is very important here. Yesterday we kept to our stand area but because we were encased by two other labels no one came to see us. We have now moved closer to the LFF generic stand and we are much busier nowâ€.
– Maria Cardenas – Leo “It is good to take part at this event with the LFF but we have found the shoppers too price sensitive for our collection. Our target market is top-end boutiques so this event is not really right for us.â€
–
– Clarey by Design – Clare Evans “Much better than I expected. Many thanks for the WCTA for giving me this important opportunity and for the LFF to organise the stands at a reduced subsidised rateâ€
