STOP PRESS: Profile & TBC

08-12-2005

TBC ADDS NEW DIMENSION TO SHOW AS PROFILE MOVES TO TOBACCO DOCK.
The organisers at TBC are pleased to announce the arrival of PROFILE, an event which has been created as an industry platform for new and vibrant UK designers. Organised by the LFF (London Fashion Forum) the PROFILE team will short list new and emerging designer talent who will be screened by an esteemed industry panel. 50 designers will then be selected to showcase a range of womenswear, menswear and accessory collections at Tobacco Dock on 12th & 13th February 2005. The Profile event is sponsored by House of Fraser, Debenhams, Whistles and Hobbs.

The London Fashion Forum (LFF) is a Creative London (LDA) funded initiative that promotes design, manufacture and retail within the UK.  In particular they provide both business support and product development for new and emerging designer talent. As a non-profit making company, the LFF acts as a voice for the fashion industry by engaging all parties across the capital who have a vested interest in the growth of the clothing and textiles industry.

The new space that has been created for PROFILE to utilise, will, in addition to the static arena, provide a platform for PROFILE to showcase fantastic new initiatives, which will include an impressive catwalk theatre and a review of www.fashioncapital.co.uk. Fashion capital is the only portal in the UK for the fashion industry, which brings together a wealth of information enabling designers, buyers, retailers, students and press alike to locate information and network together.

“We are very pleased to be working with PROFILE, the partnership will benefit the UK industry considerably. By working together, TBC can offer young PROFILE designers a unique position where they have access to buyers who regularly visit TBC as part of the international buying calendar. With a higher percentage of womenswear now added to the show, this new depth means we hope to support our existing exhibitors by achieving additional draw to a new type of buyer audience. We are already leading the trade show circuit with our offering of directional product and we hope to support and grow this with the exciting new product PROFILE and its young designers will bring to the show. With over 300 brands now on board, our buyers will have more choice to source from” TBC Organisers.

“The LFF have always set out to provide real business opportunities for our members. Over the last seven seasons the Profile event has grown phenomenally and we are delighted to be working collaboratively with TBC. By providing a larger buyer audience to our designers and offering quality emerging designers to TBC the fit for both events is excellent and just what the current fashion industry needs.” David Jones Director and Chair LFF
