The Government is working with training and recruitment agencies to arrange job training programmes for the long-term unemployed of Newham. Jobless or single parents with current low earnings, ethnic groups, refugees and asylum seekers will have an opportunity to attend courses at the offices of TNG in Stratford based in East London.

The courses are to prime the attendees on interview skills, vocational training, improvement in CV writing and basic skills such as literacy, language and numeracy.

Already there is  a shift in businesses moving into the Stratford area hoping to pick up growth in commercial property investment and also residential home prices too. A host of auxiliary subcontracting companies are also moving into the area providing services such as electrical engineering, carpentry, plumbing et al.

Another scheme is to help single parents source appropriate and approved child care arrangements and already the LFF have been asked by designers to provide information regarding the use of design services for uniforms, merchandise and garments.

The LFF is liaising with various departments to determine the correct route for designers and manufacturers and as soon as information is available it will be posted on both websites.
