I was born and raised in Lima, Ohio where the town mascot is a Lima bean named “Beanie.”  Although I’m still a small town girl at heart, I’ve made my way to the big cities of the world to pursue my passion for journalism.  I attended the prestigious journalism school at the University of Missouri, where I worked as an environment reporter for the city newspaper.  I have always loved fashion and had an eye for trends, so when I started a fashion journalism program at the American InterContinental University in London, it felt like my true calling.

I began working at The London Fashion Forum on the Fashion Capital website as an intern twice a week.  The hardworking world of fashion became real to me while helping with the Profile 7 trade show in collaboration with TBC.  Fashion no longer meant the same things to me as it did before.  I finally saw it as a business and realised the hardship of the designers.  I have tremendous respect for Jenny and Vanessa for being the constant voice for the industry and especially for promoting new talent.

I am now working in the fast paced city of Shanghai, China.  The fashion scene here is in constant development, and trends seem to change daily.  I am happy to be FashionCapital’s foreign correspondent and even happier to work with such a great team again.  This time of year comes with much anticipation: for the flowers to bloom, for new opportunities, and for a fresh start.  I can already smell the sweet blossoming of FashionCapital!
