If you only do one trend this season, make sure it’s a dress.  From cute baby dolls to 70’s tiered, empirelines and pinafore styles, a dress will instantly update a tired wardrobe. Wear with leggings or cut-down tights for less feminine, edgy appeal.

Cropped proportions continue to prove essential.  From calf and shin-length leggings to cropped jackets and mini dresses – short hemlines are where it’s at.  Jeans get the chop in customised fashion with turn-up, rolled-up or slashed styling, and shorts prove their staying power in mid to mini lengths.

Prints prove an essential summer story, with bold graphics, cute polka dots, vintage florals and retro paisleys all making their mark.  Dots and spots create a quirky retro feel in black and white or red and white colour-ways.

Braces are a sure fire trend for the very hip.  Wear with skinny jeans but only if you’re less than curvaceous!  Watch for the tulip skirt also for a very “on-trend” look, as featured on the Zac Posen, Paco Rabanne and Anna Sui runway shows.

Key accessory must-have is the belt.  The bigger the better, with chunky or novelty clasps, especially hot in patent.  Wear over outerwear, knitwear and jersey, cinched tightly around the waist rather than loosely slung at hip level.
