Key Looks From the LFW Catwalks for Spring/Summer 07

Puffball Skirts
This is not the first season for the puffball skirt, but we are seeing more and more of this interesting silhouette. Although this may not be the most commercial look, it appears fresh and interesting in light colours and prints (from left) at Richard Nicoll, Zandra Rhodes and Aquascutum.
Body Hugging
Fresh spring colour palettes accompany this tight, body-hugging look. London designers have embraced this look, combining short mini-skirts with tight corseted tops. Topshop Unique (left) have teamed a cropped top with a puffball skirt to the knee, for a more commercial (and ultimately wearable) look. (From left) Topshop Unique, Claire Tough and Preen.
High Waisted
These images show the various ways in which you can wear the high waisted look, from the shear shirt dress at Topshop Unique, a brightly printed shirt tucked into denim shorts at Danielle Scutt (Fashion East), or a more formal look at Amanda Wakely, teaming a v-neck sweater with a high-waisted short skirt.
Layering
While the key trend for this winter is layering, it seems this will continue into next summer. Whether its tiny shorts teamed with t-shirts and waistcoats as seen at Biba, chiffon blouses teamed with jersey tops at Topshop Unique, or dresses and short sleeved jackets at Gharani Strok – all seem winning combinations.
Slogan T-shirts and Catwalk Messages
While not a catwalk trend it seemed the designers were setting off a theme of their own, with messages on their t-shirts and jewellery the look has already sparked off a mini trend. From left to right Gareth Pugh, Giles, Christopher Kane and Basso & Brooke (Bruno Basso).
