Sack the Stylist

11-01-2007

Those poor celebs, when the tabloids aren’t making a quick buck or two out of their not so private lives the rest of us are picking their latest fashion ensembles to bits. Oh, well, that’s the price of fame I guess. Those who take their public image oh so very seriously may well be dreading, the no holds barred, Worst Dressed List by the one and only Mr. Blackwell. The social commentator has been compiling annual lists for 47 years – no crime against fashion is missed and no comment is deemed too catty to print!

Here’s Mr Blackwell’s Top Ten

10 Meryl Streep         {mosimage}

Mr. Blackwell says: “From Streep you could weep! Her beauty-of-a-career cannot be denied – but that beast-of-a-wardrobe is pure Mother of the Bride.”

9 Sandra Oh

8 Tori Spelling

“All chills and no thrills,” Mr. Blackwell says. “Tori’s ‘Down and Out in Beverly Hills!’ She’s definitely under fashion duress – positive proof that more is really less!”

7 Sharon Stone

6 Paula Abdul

5 Mariah Carey

Mr. Blackwell says “Fashion Pariah, has finally found her stylistic niche … let’s crown her the Queen of Catastrophic Kitsch!”

4 Christina Aguilera

“La Diva Christina is a dazzling singer,” says Mr. Blackwell. “But she puts good taste through the wardrobe wringer! All crass, no class!”

3 Lindsay Lohan

2 Camilla Parker-Bowles

1 And for the top position on Mr. Blackwell’s worst dressed list it’s a tie! Britney Spears shares the crown with new gal pal Paris Hilton.

Mr. Blackwell speaks his mind when he says: “Two peas in an overexposed pod!” Style-free and fashion deprived … ladies and gentlemen, the ‘SCREAMGIRLS’ have arrived!”

Do you agree with Mr. Blackwell’s top ten? Personally I don’t think our Camilla deserves to be at number 2, or on the list at all for that matter. Celebrities and fashion – an interesting mix and definitely a case of “not all press is good press.”
