LFW: Backstage at Victim Fashion Street

Backstage at Victim Fashion Street

London-based label Victim Fashion Street by Mei Hui Liu is in a league all of its own. It’s not about trends or wearable separates but is purely about individual handmade, more often than not, dresses that are full of nostalgia. Fabrics are sourced from Mei Hui’s travels and each piece has a real vintage quality.

In keeping with this antique feel make-up artist Alex Box transformed models into painted china dolls. Faces were whitened and framed with black lace-look patterns created by using transfers. Cheeks were dusted in chalky pink and eyes brought out with an upper-lid tick of eyeliner. Meanwhile, hairstylist Dejan Cekanovic completed the look with messed-up hair; pony-tailed and loosely twisted on top of the head.
