WearableArt Competition for Designers & Architects

03-04-2007

{mosimage}Step into a world where art and the human form combine, where dance, and lighting tell a story of the body as a canvas; where the lines of fashion and art blur and merge as one.

The Montana World of WearableArt Awards Show can be difficult to describe, hard to define and utterly impossible to forget, a montage of dance, music, colour, movement and art. Suzie Moncrieff, the creator and director of the show describes it as ‘taking art off the wall and using it to adorn the body – it is art in motion. The imagination is the only limit.’

WOW is a two-hour show which started in 1987 in Nelson, New Zealand, the result of local sculptor Moncrieff’s vision to exhibit art as live theatre to promote a rural art gallery. It now runs over a week in NZ’s capital Wellington for audiences of up to 30,000 people and to international acclaim.
