From In College to In Store

03-04-2007

You’d have to be living in a cave not to notice the 60s influence of late; from geometric prints to Sienna Miller’s portrayal of Andy Warhol’s muse, Edie Sedgwick in the film ‘Factory Girl’. We can’t seem to get enough of the 60s and students at Kingston College have been joining in with their latest design project that’s distinctively 60s in flavour. From screen printing to appliqué the students have been working hard to create a range of 60s inspired t-shirts that successfully balance the unique with the commercially viable.

There aren’t many students that can say they’ve had their college designs stocked in a major department store but the winning t-shirts from this project will be stocked and available to buy in the Urban Lounge at Bentalls in Kingston. On the 18th April representatives from Bentalls will be picking out the winning designs and already there is a buzz amongst the students.
