Farewell to a Fashion Legend

Recently diagnosed with ovarian cancer she underwent an operation to remove a tumour and it was hoped that she would make a full recovery. She passed away in the Gloucestershire Royal Hospital aged 48.
{mosimage}A front row regular you could not fail to miss with her McQueen outfits, blood red lipstick and outrageous hats, Blow has been credited for discovering the likes of milliner Philip Treacy and designer Alexander McQueen along with launching the modelling careers of Sophie Dahl and Stella Tennant.
Blow loved design that pushed boundaries and fully supported up and coming designers. She attended the sixth installment of Profile, a designer showcase of new talent, and was full of enthusiasm and encouragement.
The news comes as a great shock to the fashion community. Most recently, Blow was contributing fashion editor at Tatler magazine and just last week she was in the office going through creative ideas. “They sounded impossible, but you always knew with Isabella it would work and be marvelous,” Tatler editor Geordie Greig told The Daily Telegraph.
Blow married her husband Detmar, an art dealer, in 1989. He proposed to her just 16 days after meeting her at a wedding and was intoxicated by her courage, originality and intelligence. Described as a ‘punk at heart’ Blow would put talent and creativity before money. A true fashion legend that will no doubt be missed.
