The X

05-06-2007

The programme is under the Head for Business banner; it’s a unique creative business support organisation, initiated by the National Theatre Education Department.

The Young Enterprise Programme programme offers a rich and dynamic approach to enterprise and creative business practices and will engage, motivate and promote enterprise as a viable progression route, to a group of young people aged 16 – 20. It aims to equip young people with practical business skills and knowledge, whilst developing basic key skills through creativity and a multitude of learning processes and that’s just where Fashion-Enter steps in.

{mosimage}Over the next eight weeks the young people will explore various aspects of the industry. They will design and customise various items of clothing and will have the chance to enter a t-shirt competition organised along similar parameters as the Croydon and Kingston College projects. The t-shirts will then be showcased in the Enter boutique in Croydon. There will be a panel from Industry to review each garment giving a touch of the X factor of Fashion appeal. Local press and TV stations will be contacted to give added PR and exposure for the young students.

The programme kicks off with a guided tour to Graduate Fashion Week which takes place on Wednesday 6th June where 17 participants are given a comprehensive guided tour and visits have been arranged at LARC, STD colour, Ravensbourne College and Croydon College. On Thursday the real work begins! The course commences in earnest.

Young people attending the programme receive a NCFE qualification from levels 1 to 2 and also complete an enterprise rehearsal where they manage a budget and develop a branded product or brand concept.

Look forward to meeting you all!
