LFW: Inbar Spector

13-02-2008

Fitted
boiler suits with lots of detailing of zips, flaps, velcro and lacing. Very
dramatic hair and make up was used, overall very androgynous. A combination of
military and heavy duty fabrics contrasted with feminine ruffles and lace
throughout the collection.

Toni
& Guy did a fantastic job with the hair, scraped back from the face with
side plaits. The harsh and almost space age make up looked great on milky white
skin.

Styling
was quite extreme in terms of colour and only block colour seemed to be used
either, black or cream. However, this worked especially as beige is quite a
soft shade and teamed with black lips and patent killer heels made quite an
impact.

Influences
seemed to come from rucksacks and outerwear, key pieces included coats very
fitted with structure, and highly detailed skirts with big ruffles, hints of
PVC, lace and netting and zips. Throughout the collection cotton vests and lace
tops were used to break up outfits. There was also a baby doll style piece with
lots of ruffles in a romantic floaty fabric. Also the final look was a white
floor-length dress with layers of ruffles and a black back piece that hooked
over the shoulders like a back pack and from the back was also full length with
lace up detailing.

Overall quite a strong collection, influences
were clear and the details were interesting. Lots of cutaway backs were present
in the collection which looked great and corset style tops either teamed with
skirts or built into the outfit.  There was a lot to look at, sometimes
too much, but generally a well structured and attention grabbing collection.
