Less about fashion and more about the who’s who of BFC

14-02-2008

{mosimage} The party was all about bringing together the
who’s who of the international fashion world – pr’s, journalists, buyers,
stylists, designers and guests of the British Fashion Council successfully under
one roof.

On my arrival with my fashionable partner in
crime Violaine Prunet from Conde Nast, we found ourselves, after a short wait, ushered
in past the paps and fashion fans. Once inside the venue I was immediately
offered a glass of bubbly that I happily accepted. Taking my first sip, I took
in the atmosphere- buzzy and fun- and the beauty of the Beach Blanket Babylon venue. I immediately fell in love with it.

The beautiful people’s attire was mainly all
black. In my bright green dress I felt like I had not adhered to some fashion
secret’s dress code but I was soon enlightened by a rather intoxicated
individual who came up to me and whispered quite loudly – “always dress in black darling it is more slimming”.  It was at this moment in time that I decided to
go and rescue my friend from another admirer who had attached himself to her.
With another fresh flute handed to me by a delicious looking waiter I found
myself happily floating among the many black Armani’s and Chloe’s, my fashion
faux pas forgotten. It soon became quite apparent that each person’s outfit gave
off a hint of each wearer’s personality, making it easy for one to guess which
part of the fashion industry they worked in.

The entertainment
line up included 'Superstar Drag Queen' Jodie Harsh, troublesome DJ
twosome Tabitha Denholm and Mairead Nash aka Queens of Noize. The party also
hosted a private view of Jeanne Christoph Attard and Morio Matsui art-project
"Maijiro".

I applaud the British Fashion Council and
"Beach Blanket Babylon" for throwing a great party that boasted an
endless supply of champagne, a fashionable crowd, yummy canapés, great
networking opportunities and of cause the opportunity to pose for the many paps
at the party. All in all one of the best fashion parties I have been to in
London this season so far, lets now see if tonight’s soiree Vivienne Westwood – a/w 08 after show party
at Dolce will make me eat my words.
