Pitching for Business in New York
31-03-2008
The designers were prepared and waiting – they knew what they had to say and carefully conducted their own marketing research both comparatively and directionally regarding the Big Apple and knew their pitch!
The event was organised by NY partners Nolcha, Kerry and Arthur, who provided a week long list of activities for the designers to have their first introduction to the world of fashion New York style. Kerry Bannigan, CEO of Mocha commented Welcoming fashion capital designers to NYC is both exciting and a privilege. Nolcha is delighted to be the channel for international designers entering one of the world's fashion meccas. Preparing meetings with industry figures has been key to the success and learning process of this trip. This will now lead on to the launch of NY Profile with Nolcha during New York Fashion Week. An exciting time for all"
Catharina Eden went first "I was nervous before the presentation but I was well prepared and ready for the questions that I knew would follow. It was actually a really good experience pitching for the account and I learnt a lot during this presentation but also during the trip as a whole. Seeing New York the way w did really opened my eyes to how business is conducted. I have also now found two real leads that are interested in stocking my collection too so I am ready for business in New York. Many thanks to Derek Levy of the Barking and Dagenham Council for allowing me this fabulous opportunity"
Congratulations to Catharina for her impressive handling of the presentation…how do you think she got on? Click here to see the video
The other designer presentations were equally impressive and each designer now has a feature written about them.
Happy Viewing!
