eco news…
The BBC has provided their solution to the hippy eco-fashion stigma with the launch of ‘Thread’ Magazine. An online publication dedicated to fabulously stylish green and ethical fashion.  The publication provides a complete portal featuring high-street picks, investigative articles and an a-z of eco fashion. It’s easy to navigate and a far cry from the usual green/floral/earthy visuals we expect form ‘eco fashion’. Check it out.

High-Fashion’s very own environmental do-gooder Stella McCartney is seeing green. Not only are her current fashion lines completely animal-pelt free but she’s gone all out and releases her completely eco-friendly  ‘The Eco-Collection’ this June in the Harvey Nichols flagship store, Bruton Street London.  Expect a 20-strong range of tunics, suits and coats consist in her trademark feminine neutrals of barely pink and dove grey.

retail…
For Japanese brand Onitsuka Tiger, they’ve lost the walls, till point, changing room and the staff in favour of a trainer vending machine in London’s Carnaby Street holding six sizes of around 24 styles. It’s an example of the way retailers are thinking outside of the box to lure the current cautious customer.

collaborations…
Julie Verhoevens chain of collaborations with British luxury brand Mulberry continues. For a reasonable £50.00 each you can purchase a piece of the illustrators work through a line of animal print tees available for both men and women.

Meanwhile, an attempt to get consumers to falling for basics again sees Gap collaborating with five of America’s ‘now’ designers: Philip Lim, ThreeAsFour, Philip Crangi, Michael Bastian and Scott Sterberg as part of their Design Editions project. The mission? To re-invent the white shirt. The result? Something for everyone like oversized boyfriend shirts and girly blouses. A perfect addition to your summer capsule wardrobe.

celebrity…
Fashion sweetheart, Chloe Sevigny has been picked for the face of Uniqlo’s new t-shirt range, UT. Uniqlo are well known for their limited edition t-shirt ranges and this line features prints by Keith Harring, Jean-Michel Basquiat, Manga and Anime prints. But that’s not all; the actress lends her own brand of grungy feminism to her own line for New York boutique, Opening Ceremony. It’s not a celeb collaboration to be taken lightly…she was previous Creative Director of Imitation of Christ and with prices ranging between £150-595 dollars, it’s the real deal.
