What a STUD

08-08-2008

The studded belt trend might be just yet another Sarah Jessica Parker conception. She wore this vintage black one in nearly half of the scenes in the movie. Once for Emo boys in tight jeans and skateboards, studded belts now add a rough touch to an otherwise soft and feminine outfit.

Soft and feminine is the key to pulling off this trend. If worn with leather pants and all black, the sleekness of the trend would be lost. The best look Fashion Enter has come across so far is on actress Emma Stone. She wore a double wrapped studded belt with a simple blue ensemble.

To recreate this look for yourself, combine a fitted dress with one of the following studded wrap belts.

There is a perfect fall 2008 trend that studded belts compliment – a cinched waist. Replace tired skinny belts and "prim and proper" looks with studded belts for "feminine rocker" looks. One trend that might be risky to try this type of belt with is classic floral prints. Although they are uber-feminine, it might be best to try the combo first with abstract florals.

If you must have SJP's belt and no other studded belt will do, you can pre-order it for $250 (or wait and get it for $120). (link to http://www.shopintuition.com/store/p-32431-10.html?cat=new) SJP loved the belt so much that she actually named it…Roger. Does that strike anyone else as strange?
