Showroom Meetings Update

The pop up showroom presented three – four samples from each designer and they were and they were really excited and blown away by what was on offer. They loved so many of the collections so overall; I think it's pretty fair to say that it was an outright success!!!
They have selected five designers to start with and at this stage they plan to stock these designers within five to ten of their stores. The designers selected are AP by Alice Palmer, Belles of London, Boutikee, Corset Art and Ohema Ohene. We will take an eight piece collection to their Head Office in the New Year to present to their Buying Director and if all runs to schedule they are then aiming to launch as early as February 2010 in line with London Fashion Week.
So to the designers listed above; if I have not got your full collection here at the showroom then can you please ensure that it's with me the first week of January as the next meeting is pencilled in for the 7th January 2010.
The other designers that they would like to review again at a later date are Afromania by Nkwo, Alison Willoughby (possible diffusion range), Ruby Rocks & Vault Clothing and they were wowed by both Nicole de Noir and Samantha Cole with their high end pieces.
I am so very excited!!!
Watch this space for more in the New Year.
Browns Focus visited the showroom in Kingston this week Thursday and though they have spent their budget for SS10, she said that she was very interested to learn more about Fashion Enter and our new cutting edge designers and though it was a flying visit (as she had an appointment back in town) She previewed each collection and has asked me to keep them informed and up to date with AW10 collections from Afira, Saffron Knight, Simon Wang & Samantha Cole.
They are also interested in working on design collaborations and are always on the look out for new cutting edge designers. We plan to meet up again in the New Year at their offices with pre-selected AW10 collection which will be approved in the first instance via email and if you would like your collection to be considered for this then please email me your AW10 images and/or look books with details of your wholesale/retail prices, along with the details of any current stockist.
It's important to also state Browns target the sophisticated, cutting edge market and they pay particular attention to Quality, Cut & Finish! So if any of you reading this believe that you label is right for this market, then please remember these three words ‘Quality, Cut & Finish'
Bentalls: Another flying visit from both the Buyer and Assistant Buyer really to say Hello and Happy Christmas and to also see if there is anything that they would like to again revisit in the New Year, as at this moment in time they are not buying, well not until the after the New Year.
Though she like a lot of the collections; they felt the majority of our brands are really of a boutique nature and for them its all about volume, margins and sell through rate. One of their current best selling brands is Motel, they also stock Religion, Yuki and it's these types of products that are driving sales in their department. It's a young fast fashion market with the majority of sales going to ‘party wear' and to survive or to even create space for a new label, then you need to be able to offer competitive price points with ideally an 2.7 – 3.0 mark up and a point of difference.
