It’s the question on the tip of everybody’s tongue this month. We’ve all been meticulously watching the prices, reading the retail reports and listening to the news in order to try and gain some knowledge about what we can expect in the year 2010. So what can we expect? Well, even though the sales have been reported to be better than last year, the British Retail Consortium have predicted a tough year ahead. The economy is not going to be able to simply pick itself up after things are starting to look better. The businesses are going to have to change in order to improve and help to build up our economy once again.
Since September 2008, the shops have been through a very rough time, witnessing a disappointing decrease in sales. However, the future suddenly looked brighter at the end of 2009 when many shops saw a surprise surge in sales, exceeding all forecasts for the Christmas period. So now all the businesses can do is aim to sustain the level of sales.
