Liberty store sold for £32m
21-05-2010
The 135 Regent Street brand became hot property after it defied the economic gloom to see sales soar by 40 per cent this year.
A series of collaborations with big name labels and designers helped draw in younger shoppers and revived Liberty’s ‘cool’ image that had been lost during the eighties and nineties. This company’s world-famous prints, a huge hit in Japan, were last year given a modern twist by Turner prize winning artist Grayson Perry.
