Retail Re
13-12-2010
Even though retailers have considered the rise in their forecasts to prepare themselves, it will still be an extremely time consuming process resulting in staff spending hours re-labelling products during the bust post-Christmas sales period.

Every item will be need to be re-priced and re-labelled for customers in January when staff would normally be concerned with customer service, taking payments and keeping the store tidy. Brands will also face the struggle of adding the extra VAT to discounted prices. With the extra cost added to reduced items we won’t be able to receive items at the same low price we did last year.
It seems that not only will the new Coalition Government budget affect jobs, benefits, and pensions, etc, but is now expected to alter customer spending. The budget may have been designed to help the country in the long run but during January, when shoppers are looking for the best deals after splurging over Christmas, it may be a great disappointment.
