It’s all about London Fashion Week
10-02-2011
With the return of Tom Ford to the catwalk at London Fashion Week next week, we thought there would be no more surprises but when we heard the great news that Danielle Scutt is also set for her come back to London we were thrilled.
Danielle Scutt has been a previous favourite at London Fashion Week which runs the 18th-23rd of February. Her signature 80’s inspired feminine style has been very popular in the past so we expect no different in what her collection has to offer for Autumn.
This is a picture from her Spring/Summer 2010 collection.

Danielle has taken 6 months off from fashion but has returned to work full of inspiration and with new exciting ideas. The designer is also set to launch an exclusive debut jewellery collection for Freedom at Topshop this Spring which I’m sure will not disappoint.
London College of Fashion Alumni Ngozi Pere-Okorotie will also be returning to London Fashion Week for the showcase of her Autumn/Winter 11 collection from her label Zed Eye. The collection is influenced by the Twenties, Thirties and the femininity of the Fifties.
The range of designs are created with tweed, chiffon, cotton and silk and in different shades of blue. This label is a favourite with celebrities such as Kelis.

The new collection will debut at London Fashion Week at the LGN Events’ ‘A La Mode Catwalk Presentation’ on Sunday 20th February at Charing Cross Hotel, The Strand.
Vauxhall have announced their 10th season of participation at London Fashion Week. Vauxhall Fashion Scout, sponsored by Vauxhall motors, is renowned for spotting upcoming talent, with a panel of industry experts selecting the best talent, and has previously helped successful designers such as William Tempest, Phrophetik and BodyArm.

This year selected designers have been identified as the most promising new talent for the “Ones to Watch” show and will have the opportunity to have their very own catwalk show or presentation over London Fashion Week. The lucky designers are Anja Mlakar who graduated from Central Saint Martins in London in 2010. Her designs are said to be elegant with clean lines, gentle colours and feminine silhouettes. Sara Bro-Jorgensen graduated from the Royal College of Art also in 2010. The influence to her collection is black and white photography. Her designs are created using various materials from chunky knits to sensual silk. Kirsty Ward is a 2008 graduate from Central Saint Martins and then went on to designing for Alberta Ferretti in Italy. Her range of collection is classic and he gives her designs unique style with metallic jewellery. The last designer to be selected is Tze Goh who also graduated from Central Saint Martins. His collection offers a different style by using flexible fabrics to create a 3D look.

The highly coveted ‘Merit’ award for the best new designer has been awarded to designer Georgia Hardinge. Georgia ‘s debut was in last season’s ‘Ones to Watch’ show and has carried on the success and worked with brands such as Victoria’s Secret and Swarovski. So this year’s chosen designers are ones to look out for.
Wendy Towler from Vauxhall Motors says, “This is definitely a highlight of Londons’ fashion calendar and we believe one of the most exciting events for the next generation of British fashion designers. Vauxhall is delighted to continue our long standing commitment to nurturing and establishing up and coming British design talent.”
