New Westfield Stratford City Shopping Mall

The majority of us are familiar with the Westfield Shopping centre in Shepherd’s Bush which opened on the 30th October 2008. The shopping mall comprises of 150,000m² of retail space and took over 13 million man-hours to build. The shopping centre has 5 anchor stores which are Debenhams, Next, Marks & Spencer, House of Fraser and Waitrose.

The shopping centre is home to over 265 luxury, premium and high street retailers which are from over 15 different countries, with 80% of the stores being fashion-focused. The Vue Cinema at Westfield’s at Shepherd’s Bush is also the highest grossing cinema in Britain.

The Westfield Stratford City shopping centre will have 1.9 million sq ft of retail and leisure space, with over 300 brands that will be anchored by John Lewis, Waitrose and Marks & Spencer. It will be the largest urban shopping mall in Europe when it will be complete. The construction stage has already created 25,000 jobs and once the construction is complete there will be 18,000 permanent jobs up for grabs.

The mall will be inspired by east London’s creative spirit, art and culture will be essential to the Westfield Stratford shopping experience. Stratford will be the centre stage when the Olympic and Paralympics games take place and 70% of the visitors to the games will walk through the new shopping centre and be able to dine in the restaurants.

The opening of Topshop at the Westfield Stratford City will be a brand new era for the store. It will have the most up-to-date store design including a fantastic new shoe lounge. It will also include a central catwalk brining their innovative window concepts into the store. Topshop also plan to recruit an inspirational management team and the 200 plus sales staff who will deliver this fantastic store.
